The Shrine – Celestial Posture of Lord Nataraja

Home / Our Projects / The Shrine – Celestial Posture of Lord Nataraja

‘ShivaThandavam108’ Registered Trust will be the first one in the globe to build 108 feet Celestial posture of Lord Natraja. Also, this will be the biggest Celestial posture of Nataraja in the world. We are not only building the Shrine but also building 108 Karana postures that are derived from Lord Shiva’s Thandavams.

Purpose of building these is to create awareness to people around the globe the importance of Holistic living and how it relates to Lord Shiva’s Thandavams, Bharatanatyam, Yoga and Kundalini arousal. Also, this project will pave way for the young generation to know and learn about the roots of India’s ancient art forms, Bharatnatyam & Yoga. Above all, Holistic living will enlighten people to understand their inner soul thereby spreading love, peace, and harmony throughout the world.

The Celestial posture of Nataraja signifies India’s culture and to prove this we can see a Celestial posture Natarja statue in CERN complex in Geneva. The statue was gifted by the Government of India to celebrate its association with CERN, which started in the 1960s and remains strong today.

“India is one of CERN’s associate member states. CERN is a multicultural organisation that welcomes scientists from more than 100 countries and 680 institutions. The Shiva statue is only one of the many statues and art pieces at CERN,” says the CERN’s website. This deity was chosen by the Indian government because of a metaphor that was drawn between the cosmic dance of the Nataraja and the modern study of the ‘cosmic dance’ of subatomic particles.

We therefore take great pride in constructing this project for all of the above said reasons. Come join us and enjoy the bliss of knowing the divine cosmic dance and it’s way of living!
